How to Use Quest XP
- Claim rewards early. A fixed 12,725 Smithing XP is worth far more at level 1 than at level 60.
- Plan around non-boostable requirements. Some quests need a raw level before you can start; use other quest XP to reach it instead of training.
- Save lamps. Choice lamps and the RFD antique lamp can be banked and used on the skill you least want to train.
- Pair with the optimal order. Our optimal quest order sequences quests so each reward feeds the next requirement.

01Which OSRS quests give the most XP?
The single largest quest rewards are Dragon Slayer I (18,650 Defence and Strength), Waterfall Quest (13,750 Attack and Strength), and The Knight's Sword (12,725 Smithing). Song of the Elves, Dragon Slayer II and While Guthix Sleeps give the biggest late-game drops across multiple skills.
02Should I use quest XP at low or high levels?
Use it early. Quest XP is a fixed amount, so it saves the same total XP whenever you claim it. Claiming it at low levels skips the slowest training methods, which is the whole point.
03Do all quests give XP?
No. Many quests give only Quest points, items, or access. This page lists every quest with a numeric XP reward, grouped by skill, so you can see which ones are worth doing for training.
04Can I choose which skill a quest reward goes into?
Some quests give an XP lamp or a choice of skill, such as The Ides of Milk (1,000 XP in any combat skill) and Recipe for Disaster (a 20,000 XP antique lamp for any skill above 50). Most quests award fixed XP to a specific skill.
