- Start the quest. Speak to Cassius by the Lumbridge pond south of the windmill.
- Investigate the farm. Talk to Gillie Groats in the cow field, then Seth Groats in the farmhouse by the chicken coop, and search the shelves for 'The groats principles'.
- Return the book. Return the book to Cassius to receive a milk sample, drink it in front of him, then get another sample for Duke Horacio.
- Get the permit. Speak to Duke Horacio upstairs in Lumbridge Castle about the permit, then return to Gillie and drink the sample.
- Defeat the bull. Open the gate north-east of Gillie and defeat Brutus. When it snorts, move two tiles sideways or one back; when it growls, move two tiles sideways.
- Finish the quest. Talk to Gillie Groats, then confront Cassius.
