Defender of Varrock continues the Mahjarrat storyline and unlocks Zemouregal's Base plus a 5,000 XP antique lamp. It needs 55 Smithing and 52 Hunter, neither boostable, and eight quests.

Walkthrough

- Track the zombies. Talk to Elias White at the Jolly Boar Inn and inspect the trail of plants, rocks and bushes in order to find the trapdoor.
- Enter Zemouregal's Base. Watch the cutscene of Sharathteerk and Arrav, then kill armoured zombies to fill red mist bottles and pass through the gates.
- Learn of the invasion. Pick up bottles, refill them on more zombies and look over the second balcony to see Zemouregal's plan to invade Varrock.
- The Sacred Forge. Report to Elias at Varrock Palace, then take a chaos core and barronite deposit to Ramarno at Camdozaal and speak to Arrav in the Dream Theatre.
- Find the true descendant. Get the Shield of Arrav from Captain Rovin, read the Varrock Census and the list of elders, and test descendants until you reach Dimintheis in south-east Varrock.
- Finish up. Watch Dimintheis unleash the shield's power on the zombie army, then finish the conversation with Elias and Captain Rovin.
