Dragon Slayer I is the climactic free-to-play quest: slay Elvarg and earn the right to wear a rune platebody and green d'hide body. It also unlocks dragonfire protection.

Walkthrough

- Start the quest. Talk to the Guildmaster in the Champions' Guild, then to Oziach in Edgeville. Return to the Guildmaster and ask about the map pieces and ship.
- Get the anti-dragon shield. If you don't have one, talk to Duke Horacio on the 1st floor of Lumbridge Castle.
- Thalzar's map piece. Talk to the Oracle on Ice Mountain, then use silk, a lobster pot, an unfired bowl and a wizard's mind bomb on the magic door in the north-east of the Dwarven Mine and search the chest.
- Melzar's map piece. Enter Melzar's Maze near Rimmington and kill the marked zombie rat, ghost, skeleton, zombies, Melzar the Mad and the lesser demon, opening each coloured door and searching the chest at the end.
- Lozar's map piece. Go to the Port Sarim jail and either kill Wormbrain and telekinetically grab the map piece or pay him 10,000 coins. Combine the three pieces.
- Repair the ship. Pay Klarense 2,000 coins at the southern Port Sarim docks, board the ship and repair the hole 3 times with planks, nails and a hammer. Then talk to Ned in Draynor Village.
- Slay Elvarg. Sail with Ned, climb the Karamja Volcano and enter the hole. Kill level 83 Elvarg while wearing the anti-dragon shield; you may flinch her in the south-east corner.
- Finish the quest. Talk to Oziach in Edgeville to complete the quest.

Elvarg is level 83. Combat level 45 is recommended, and you must have 32 Quest points to start the quest. Bring an anti-dragon shield.
02Do I need 33 Magic for Dragon Slayer I?
No. 33 Magic (boostable) lets you Telekinetic Grab Lozar's map piece from Wormbrain, otherwise you can pay him 10,000 coins.
03What is Dragon Slayer I rewarded for?
It grants 2 Quest points, 18,650 Strength and Defence experience, and the ability to equip rune platebodies and green d'hide bodies.
04What items do I need for Dragon Slayer I?

05Can ironmen complete Dragon Slayer I?
Yes, but free-to-play ironmen need 8 Crafting (boostable) for the unfired bowl and 34 Smithing (boostable) to make the steel nails. Members can buy the nails from the sawmill operator.
06Do I need 37 Prayer for Dragon Slayer I?
No. 37 Prayer (not boostable) is only recommended for Protect from Magic. The anti-dragon shield is the essential protection and cuts Elvarg's dragonfire to 10 damage.
07What does Dragon Slayer I unlock?
It lets you equip green d'hide bodies, rune platebodies and dragon platebodies, unlocks Crandor, and is required for Heroes' Quest and several achievement diaries.
08Where is Elvarg and what level is she?
Elvarg is a level 83 dragon in the volcano at the centre of Crandor. Bring an anti-dragon shield, a stab weapon or water spell, and food.
