Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fastest way to train Woodcutting in OSRS?

The fastest Woodcutting training method is cutting Teak trees from level 35+ or Sulliuscep mushrooms at level 65+ with 25 Farming. Teaks provide around 60K-70K XP per hour with two-tick woodcutting, while Sulliusceps offer 90K+ XP per hour and profit. For AFK training, Redwood trees at level 90 provide 60K XP per hour with minimal attention required.

How do I get the Lumberjack outfit?

The Lumberjack outfit is obtained from the Temple Trekking minigame by completing the Burgh de Rott Ramble route. Each piece has approximately a 1/200 chance of being dropped from the reward crates. The full outfit provides a 2.5% Woodcutting XP bonus when worn, which stacks with other bonuses. It takes roughly 4-6 hours on average to obtain the full set.

What are the requirements for the Woodcutting Guild?

To access the Woodcutting Guild, you need 60 Woodcutting and at least 75% Hosidius favour. Inside the guild, you receive an invisible +7 Woodcutting level boost, which stacks with visible boosts. The guild contains every tree type, including Magic trees, Redwood trees, and has a convenient sawmill for processing logs into planks.

Can you make money training Woodcutting?

Yes, Woodcutting can be profitable! Magic logs provide 300K-400K GP per hour at level 75+, Yew logs offer 150K-250K GP per hour at level 60+, and Redwood logs at level 90 give 400K+ GP per hour AFK. The most profitable method is cutting Redwood trees, which combines good XP rates with high profit. Prices fluctuate based on Grand Exchange demand.

What is two-tick woodcutting and how does it work?

Two-tick woodcutting is an advanced training method that manipulates game mechanics to cut trees every two game ticks instead of the normal rate. It requires using herb and tar on each other while cutting Teak trees, significantly increasing XP rates to 100K+ per hour. However, it's very click-intensive and requires precise timing, making it unsuitable for AFK training.

What axe should I use for Woodcutting?

Always use the best axe you can based on your Attack level: Bronze (1), Iron (1), Steel (6), Black (11), Mithril (21), Adamant (31), Rune (41), Dragon (61), and Crystal/Infernal (71-75 Woodcutting). Higher tier axes significantly increase your chopping speed. The Dragon axe has a special attack that temporarily boosts Woodcutting by 3 levels, useful for accessing higher-level trees.

How long does it take to get 99 Woodcutting?

Getting 99 Woodcutting takes approximately 200-300 hours depending on your training methods. Using the fastest methods like two-tick Teak trees or Sulliusceps (90K+ XP/hour), it takes around 150-180 hours. AFK methods like Redwood trees (60K XP/hour) take 250-280 hours. Most players achieve 99 Woodcutting in 3-6 months of casual play, making it one of the easier 99s to obtain.
