They're excellent for training because they provide high XP rates (300K-900K XP per hour) and are profitable or break-even. They're widely considered the best balance of XP and profit for Fletching.
04Should I string bows or leave them unstrung?
Stringing bows doubles the XP you receive but is generally slower and less profitable than cutting logs into unstrung bows. Most players cut logs into unstrung bows (u) for fast XP, then sell them unstrung on the Grand Exchange. Stringing is only recommended if you want slightly better profit or are doing it AFK. For pure speed, cutting logs into longbows (u) and selling them unstrung is more efficient than stringing.

The most AFK Fletching methods are: cutting logs into longbows (u) which allows 60 seconds of AFK per inventory, stringing bows which is slightly slower but also very AFK, and making Broad arrows/bolts (moderately AFK).
