02How do I get the Prospector Kit?
The Prospector Kit is purchased from the Motherlode Mine reward shop for a total of 180 golden nuggets. Each piece provides a small XP bonus, and the full set grants a 2.5% Mining XP boost. On average, it takes 8-12 hours of Motherlode Mine to collect enough nuggets for the full outfit. The outfit is highly recommended before training to 99 as it saves approximately 25-30 hours of training time.
03What is the Motherlode Mine and should I use it?
The Motherlode Mine is a members-only mining activity located in the Dwarven Mine. You mine pay-dirt from ore veins and clean it in the washing machine for various ores and golden nuggets. It's the most popular AFK Mining training method, providing 30K-50K XP per hour and 150K-300K GP per hour profit. The upper level, unlocked at 72 Mining, has more ore veins and is less crowded.
04Can you make money training Mining?
Yes, Mining can be very profitable! Runite ore at level 85+ provides 700K-1M GP per hour, Amethyst at level 92+ offers 400K-500K GP per hour, Blast Mining at level 75+ gives 600K-800K GP per hour with good XP, and Volcanic Mine at level 50+ provides 500K-700K GP per hour. 05What pickaxe should I use for Mining?
Always use the best pickaxe you can based on your Attack level: Bronze (1), Iron (1), Steel (6), Black (11), Mithril (21), Adamant (31), Rune (41), Dragon (61), and Crystal/Infernal (71 Mining required). Higher tier pickaxes mine significantly faster. The Dragon pickaxe special attack boosts Mining by 3 levels temporarily. For Motherlode Mine specifically, the Gilded pickaxe works identically to Dragon but costs more.
06What is Blast Mining and how does it work?
Blast Mining is a Mining activity in the Lovakengj House area, requiring 43 Mining, 100% Lovakengj favour, and completion of the quest 'The Forsaken Tower'. You use dynamite to blast ore from rock walls, then mine the blasted ore quickly. It provides 70K-80K Mining XP per hour and 600K-800K GP per hour profit, making it excellent for both XP and money. However, it's more click-intensive than Motherlode Mine.
07How long does it take to get 99 Mining?
Getting 99 Mining takes approximately 200-350 hours depending on methods. Using 3-tick Granite mining (100K XP/hour), it takes 130-140 hours but is extremely intensive. Volcanic Mine (70K-80K XP/hour) takes 180-200 hours. Motherlode Mine (30K-50K XP/hour), the most popular method, takes 260-350 hours but is very AFK. Most players achieve 99 Mining in 4-8 months of casual play.
