Quick Decision Snapshot

- Every Summer Sweep-Up 2026 change: batch 1 gear buffs (Soulreaper Axe, Sanguinesti, Inquisitor), batch 2 Agility & CoX loot, batch 3 Hunter & skilling, batch 4 Slayer, Deadman and quality-of-life.
The 2026 Summer Sweep-Up rolled out in four batches. Batch 1 (Gear & PvM) went live on 22 July 2026, bringing the Soulreaper Axe rework, Sanguinesti Staff buff, the Inquisitor rework, a comprehensive Gauntlet prep overhaul, and the Maggot King Combat Achievements. Batch 2 (Agility & CoX) shipped 12 August, Batch 3 (Hunter & Skilling) shipped 19 August, and Batch 4 (Miscellaneous) shipped 2 September — all covered below with the final numbers.
This guide covers what has actually shipped — with the final numbers — and what's still on the way.
Batch 1 — Live July 22: Gear Buffs
Soulreaper Axe Rework
The Soulreaper Axe shipped differently to the original proposal. The final version keeps the 5-stack cap and makes the axe dramatically easier to use:
| Stat | Before | Shipped |
|---|---|---|
| Strength Bonus | +121 | +125 |
| Max Stacks | 5 | 5 (unchanged) |
| Damage per Stack | +6% | +6% |
| Stack Decay | Starts after 20 ticks | After 50 ticks |
| HP Drain | Drains HP per stack | No longer drains HP |
| Spec Accuracy per Stack | +6% | +12% (60% at max stacks) |
| Spec Minimum Hit per Stack | None | +6% (30% at max stacks) |
The headline changes: the axe no longer drains your Hitpoints, stacks hang around more than twice as long before decaying, and the special attack is dramatically stronger (+12% accuracy and +6% minimum hit per stack, up from +6% and none). The special attack animation was also updated.
Use our DPS Calculator to model the new Soulreaper Axe against any boss.
Sanguinesti Staff
| Stat | Before | Shipped |
|---|---|---|
| Heal Chance | 1 in 6 | 1 in 5 |
| Bonus Damage on Heal Proc | None | +8 |
| Average Damage per Hit | - | +1.6 |
| Base Max Hit | - | +1 |
| Blood Rune Cost per Cast | 3 | 2 |
The Sanguinesti staff gains roughly +2.6 average damage per hit while costing 33% fewer Blood runes. Improved healing uptime (20% proc rate vs 16.7%) also increases sustain in Theatre of Blood, Chambers of Xeric, and general Slayer bursting. Players were refunded one Blood rune per charge on log-in.
Ghrazi Rapier & Blade of Saeldor
| Weapon | Stab/Slash Accuracy | Strength Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Ghrazi Rapier | +6 | +4 |
| Blade of Saeldor | +6 | +4 |
Both gain an additional max hit in all setups.
Inquisitor Set
The set effect is gone — each piece provides its Crush bonuses independently (matching Oathplate), and negative Stab/Slash bonuses were removed from all pieces:
| Piece | Shipped Change |
|---|---|
| Inquisitor's Great Helm | +2 Crush accuracy, +2 Strength, +0.5% Crush damage and accuracy (standalone) |
| Inquisitor's Hauberk | +4 Crush accuracy, +1% Crush damage and accuracy (up from 0.5%, standalone) |
| Inquisitor's Plateskirt | +1% Crush damage and accuracy (up from 0.5%, standalone) |
| Inquisitor's Mace | +7 Strength, +7 Crush accuracy — guarantees +1 max hit in all setups, +2 in some |
The 0.5–1% Crush bonuses are no longer boosted by wearing the full set or by the Mace. Mixed setups (Inquisitor helm with Torva body/legs) now keep their Crush bonuses — a real gain in content like Chambers of Xeric Challenge Mode.
Other Shipped Buffs
| Item | Change |
|---|---|
| Pegasian Boots | +1 Ranged Strength |
| Master Wand | +10% Magic Damage |
| Ancient Sceptre (all variants) | Magic Damage increased from +5% to +10% |
| Aquanite Hopper | Second-hit accuracy penalty halved |
| Shaman Mask | Magic bonus changed from −6 to +2 |
| Tonalztics of Ralos | Spec Defence reduction up to 12.5% of Magic level; +50% accuracy on spec |
| Belle's Folly | Drop rate improved from 1/256 to 1/75 |
| Rosewood Blowpipe | Can now fire darts up to rune; special attack no longer gives +10% damage / −20% accuracy |
Note: The Venator Bow consistency change did not ship in batch 1 — Jagex confirmed it was included in the blog in error and will come in a future batch.
Batch 1 — Gear Nerfs
Burning Claws
Special attack energy cost increased from 30% to 35% — fewer spec-weave rotations over long fights without changing burst damage.
PvP-Specific Adjustments (PvP only, no PvM impact)
| Item | Change |
|---|---|
| Eclipse Atlatl | Fires every 4 ticks on Rapid unless the full Eclipse set is worn (back to 3 ticks) |
| Soulflame Horn | Spec accuracy reduced from +100% to +50% |
Batch 1 — PvM Changes
Gauntlet & Corrupted Gauntlet Prep Overhaul
The biggest single change of the batch — the red prison got a lot more forgiving:
Prep Phase:
- Four guaranteed demi-boss spawns at the north/east/south/west-most rooms from centre (types still random)
- Demi-boss attack range reduced from 16 to 10
- Guaranteed weapon frame from your first low-tier NPC kill
- Phren Bark, Crystal Ore, and Linum Tirinum are now stackable
- Crystal Shards auto-place in your inventory with lower drop variance
- Non-demi-boss enemies now have standardised defensive stats — never better to kill a wolf over a scorpion
Crystal Shard Costs:
| Equipment | Old Cost | New Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 Weapon | 20 | 0 (still needs a weapon frame) |
| Tier 2 Weapon | 60 | 50 |
| Tier 1 Armour (per piece) | 40 | 50 |
| Tier 2 Body | 80 | 100 |
| Tier 2 Legs/Helm | 80 | 50 |
| Tier 3 Armour (per piece) | 80 | 100 |
Full-set comparisons:
- T1 armour + 2x T3 weapons: 250 shards (was 280)
- T2 armour + 2x T3 weapons: 450 shards (was 460)
- T3 armour + 2x T3 weapons: 750 shards (was 700 — extra demi-bosses and auto-pickup make this easier)
Because prep got faster, speed challenge times were tightened: Gauntlet Speed-chaser is now under 4:45 (was 5:00), Speed-runner under 3:45 (was 4:00); Corrupted Speed-chaser under 7:05 (was 7:30), Speed-runner under 6:05 (was 6:30).
Use our Drop Rate Calculator to estimate your Enhanced Crystal Weapon Seed grind under the new prep consistency.
Other Shipped PvM Tweaks
| Content | Change |
|---|---|
| Phantom Muspah | Won't swap forms until you've dealt 4 hitsplats (0s count); Homing Spikes duration cut from 50 to 34 ticks, ends early if phased into blue shield |
| Demonic Gorillas | Won't swap prayers until 4 hits and 70 damage dealt with a style |
| Skotizo | Destroyed totems don't respawn for 1 minute; arena size reduced |
| Ice Demon (CoX) | Demonbane vulnerability increased to 115% |
| Wardens (ToA) | No longer immune to Sanguinesti Staff / Amulet of Blood Fury life leech |
| Autocast settings | Preserved through death |
| Gravestones | Loot now auto-sorts to match your inventory layout at death |
Maggot King Combat Achievements
Maggot King Combat Achievements went live with batch 1 (Hard through Master — no Grandmaster tasks; Jagex couldn't land a slam-dunk design). Highlights: killcount tasks (25 kills for Elite), "Trying to fit in" (Vampyrium weapons only), "Digging In" (under 40 tiles moved), Speed Chaser (5 kills in 9 minutes — being moved to Grandmaster tier in the August update), and "Perfect Maggot King".
Blood Moon Rises Tweaks + Pet Rates
- Engorged Bloodwood trees occasionally need an extra interaction (a Letvek crawls into your bucket — click to release), keeping the method semi-AFK
- Pet drop rates revealed: Bloodwood trees 1/969,283 per chop; Engorged trees 1/319,283 per successful cut; Leechfin Fishing has a small chance of the Heron
- Dragon Axe (or) now correctly recognised by Bloodwood trees
CoX Loot Weightings — SHIPPED August 12
The proposed Chambers of Xeric rebalance went live with batch 2. The weighted table shifted so Prayer Scrolls are ~20% rarer in regular raids and ~26% rarer in Challenge Mode, while Ancestral pieces got ~54-64% more common:
| Unique | Old Weight (69) | Regular New (60) | CM New (56) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ancestral Hat / Bottoms / Top | 3 each | 4 each | 4 each |
| Arcane / Dextrous Scroll | 20 each | 14 each | 12 each |
| Dinh's Bulwark / Dragon Claws | 3 each | 3 each | 3 each |
| Dragon Hunter Crossbow / Buckler | 4 each | 4 each | 4 each |
| Elder Maul / Kodai / Twisted Bow | 2 each | 2 each | 2 each |
Per purple, scrolls went from 29% to 23.3% (21.4% in CM) and Ancestral from 13% to 20%. GP/hr should hold roughly steady as prices adjust. Full analysis and per-purple odds in our CoX drop rate changes post.
Batch 2 — Live August 12: Agility & CoX
- Hallowed Sepulchre: Floor 4 entry lowered to 77 (from 82) and Floor 5 to 87 (from 92), both boostable — a player at 72 can Summer pie into Floor 4. The Floor 5 Grand Coffin now needs 84 Thieving or 92 Agility (boostable)
- 9 new Agility shortcuts added across Gielinor (49-83), plus 6 grapple shortcuts converted to barehanded with raised level requirements — full list in our New Agility Shortcuts post
- Colossal Wyrm course: basic course ~25% longer, advanced ~40% longer, with XP/shard/termite rates matched — same XP/hr, lower intensity
- CoX loot weightings shipped (see above)
- Chivalry drain reduced to 1 point per 3 seconds (matching Deadeye/Mystic Vigour)
- Rune Essence Pouch drop rate up: 1/8 from Abyssal Guardians, 1/5 from Abyssal Walkers (both were 1/42), whose Ranged/Crush defences were lowered to 0
- Bonfire UX: 'Tend to' option, no Make-X spam with one log type
- Wyrmscraig drop rates published — Mad Angel: Hallowfell 1/127, teleports 1/25 (x2), Medium clues 1/25, Jar of Light 1/1,000, Aggy 1/2,000. Her clue drop changed from Hard to Medium
- Fight Caves re-entry cooldown removed; ToB party timeout removed
Batch 3 — Live August 19: Hunter & Skilling
- Birdhouse nerf: Hunter XP down 15-60% by tier (Redwood unchanged), but nest output up ~50% with far less variance — birdhouses are now a nest-money run, not a training method. New XP table and the post-nerf training meta in our Birdhouse Nerf post
- Deadfall traps: two traps from level 1, 75% log preservation, catches in 8 ticks (was 15)
- Falconry: free movement while chasing, full-inventory catches, Bonecrusher synergy
- Aerial Fishing: 7x7 quick-catch range, cormorant bait toggle, Molch Pearls +50%, Fishing Sack 1,000→500 pearls, Angler's Outfit 100→50 per piece
- Guardians of the Rift: Abyssal Needle purchasable for 750 Abyss Pearls; Abyssal Lantern now works outside GOTR with Willow/Blisterwood/Magic/Redwood logs; Guardian's Eye unlocks a permanent Rift Guardian metamorphosis
- Tempoross: Fish Barrel and Tackle Box purchasable for 6,000 Spirit Flakes each
- Coral: harvest lives up to 6; yield buffed at low Farming levels, reduced at high
- Run energy: quests fully restore Run Energy and cure poison; Energy potions buffed to 15% per dose and added to early-game drop tables
- Jeweller's Chisel: cuts bolt tips in 2 ticks (was 5) with a 1/10 double-cut chance; high-alch value 60,000 GP
- Venator Bow: engine update improves target-finding reliability (Fortis Colosseum usage)
Batch 4 — Live September 2: Miscellaneous
The final batch was the widest. The headline additions were new Slayer jewellery, but there is a long tail of quality-of-life and Deadman changes.
New Slayer Jewellery
- Elemental amulets: four amulets crafted from new Slayer drops. Each gives +10 Magic Accuracy and +2 max hit to its element. Air diamond (1/64 Killerwatts), Water sapphire (1/64 Sea Snake Hatchlings), Earth emerald (1/64 Molanisks), Fire ruby (1/64 Infernal Mages). Craft each with an Amulet of magic, the jewel, and 100 matching runes at the relevant altar (18-21 Runecraft). The combined Elemental Amulet covers all elements (30 Runecraft, all four amulets + 500 runes each).
- The +2 max hit applies after Elemental Weakness and Magic Damage % (clarified 3 September), so it is strongest at low max hits and niche at endgame versus the Occult necklace. Jagex reviewed feedback and left them as-is on 8 September.
- Necklace of Fangs: added to the Turoth drop table at 1/128 (also Spiked Turoths). Gives +12 Ranged Accuracy and +1 Ranged Strength — a mid-game Ranged gap-filler before Anguish.
See our Elemental Amulets and Necklace of Fangs guide for crafting and comparisons.
Quality-of-Life Changes
- Unsireds from the Abyssal Sire now stack in the bank, and roll loot when used on the Font of Consumption. Duplicate bludgeon piece protection is unchanged.
- Shark Lures now reduce harpoon fishing delays based on how many you use — see the full Shark Lures breakdown.
- Ghommal's Lucky Penny can be consumed to unlock its charge-saving effect, so it no longer needs to be worn. It now also applies to the Blood Fury and auto-toggles with Master-tier CA completion.
- Seed Vault inventory locking: protect chosen inventory slots from seed/sapling deposits.
- POH lecterns: new Create-Last option remembers your last tablet and quantity; the interface remembers the last option selected.
- Chambers of Xeric: dying no longer resets your Surge potion cooldown, matching ToB and ToA.
- Abyssal Lanterns can be stored in Magic Wardrobes.
- Players with multiple Fishing Sacks can reclaim 500 Molch pearls per extra sack from Alry the Angler.
Permanent Deadman Changes
- Recently in combat, you cannot deposit items worth 20,000 GP or more for 24 seconds, except at a safe-zone bank.
- Risk thresholds to attack other players: 100,000 GP alch value normally, 500,000 GP near the Deadman chest, and 1,000,000 GP with no protection left to enter raid areas.
- Ancient Warrior armour is now tradeable on the Grand Exchange.
- The Desert Treasure quest lamp now sets Herblore to 3; the Nimbleness charm works from inside a looting bag.
- One exploitable Deadman chest location was removed and new ones added; Zemouregal's summoned minions wander less.
Nex Personal Bests
Jagex reviewed bugged Nex kill times and reverted 643 PBs across two incidents, setting the record at 42 seconds. If you had a suspicious Nex time, it is now pre-bug.
Still to Come
- Pet changes: pets following you into the Gauntlet, Fossil Island underwater, minigames, and respawning on death — delayed from batch 4, planned within two weeks of 2 September
- Gathering Efficiencies: stackable Net traps, Poison dynamite changes, and Celestial Signet applying to Daeyalt essence — prioritised after the Sweep-Up concludes
- Nightmare of Ashihama: moving Volatile/Eldritch Orbs off its table and buffing Inquisitor rates — future poll
We'll update this guide as each batch lands.
