  • Every new OSRS agility shortcut from the Summer Sweep-Up batch 2 update: 9 brand-new shortcuts, 6 grapple shortcuts that no longer need equipment, plus Hallowed Sepulchre level changes and the Colossal Wyrm rework.

The 12 August 2026 Summer Sweep-Up update added 9 brand-new Agility shortcuts across Gielinor and converted 6 grapple shortcuts so they no longer require any equipment to use. If you train Agility, do Treasure Trails, or just want faster routes to some of the game's most annoying locations, this is the update for you.

There were also two big Agility training changes in the same update: Hallowed Sepulchre floor requirements dropped (with boosting now allowed), and the Colossal Wyrm course got longer but lower-intensity. Here's everything that changed.

All 9 New Agility Shortcuts (Aug 12)

Level Location What It Does
49 Draynor Manor Small gap in the west fence — skip the long walk around
52 River Lum (south of Champion's Guild) Stepping stones across the river
54 Giant's Plateau (south-west) Climb up and down for easy access to and from the desert
60 Edgeville Dungeon (southern edge) Pipe shortcut — no more hunting for the Brass key
52 & 62 Arceuus Library (middle and top floors) Jump down to the bottom floor from either level
79 North of Sophanem Stepping stones across the River Elid
82 Island north of Mos Le'Harmless Stepping stones — fixes one of the most hated clue steps
83 West of Pollnivneach Quick access from Ali the Hag's hut to the plateau

The Mos Le'Harmless one is the crowd favourite: the Treasure Trail step to the island north of Mos Le'Harmless just became dramatically less painful. If you're grinding clue scrolls, this shortcut pays for itself in sanity alone — see our Clue Casket Simulator if you want to know what those caskets are actually worth.

6 Grapple Shortcuts Now Barehanded

The following grapple/crossbow shortcuts no longer require a Mithril grapple, rope, or crossbow. Their level requirements were increased to compensate:

Old Level (Grapple) New Level (Barehanded) Shortcut
8 48 Broken raft in River Lum
11 52 Falador rough wall
32 68 Rock-climb between Catherby and Taverley (now two-way)
36 72 Water Obelisk island to Catherby
39 69 Yanille rough wall
53 78 Strong trees south of Karamja Volcano

One catch: any Achievement Diary task that involves a grapple shortcut still requires you to actually use the grapple to complete it. The barehanded versions won't count. Check our Achievement Diary tools to plan around that.

Two smaller additions round out the Agility changes:

  • A new gap in the fence around the Clock Tower lets you walk around the building
  • The Zaryte crossbow now works for Crossbow Agility shortcuts

Hallowed Sepulchre: Floor Requirements Lowered

The Sepulchre is now accessible far earlier, and boosting works for floor entry:

Floor Old Requirement New Requirement
Floor 4 82 Agility 77 Agility (boostable)
Floor 5 92 Agility 87 Agility (boostable)

A player at 72 Agility can eat a Summer pie at the end of Floor 3 and walk straight into Floor 4. The Grand Coffin on Floor 5 now needs 84 Thieving or 92 Agility — both boostable.

This is a meaningful buff to Sepulchre as a training method, since Floor 5 is the best Agility XP in the game (60-70K XP/hr at high levels). Check your route with the Hallowed Sepulchre Calculator and plug in the new levels.

Colossal Wyrm Course: Longer, Lower Intensity

The Colossal Wyrm Agility course was extended:

  • Basic course: ~25% longer
  • Advanced course: ~40% longer

XP, Bone shards, and Termites were increased to match, so the XP/hr and Termites/hr are roughly the same — but with fewer inputs per hour. The course is now a lower-intensity alternative to Sepulchre, and the Giant Squirrel pet rate was later adjusted to match the longer course.

Which Shortcuts Matter Most

Ranked by how much time they actually save in day-to-day play:

  1. Mos Le'Harmless island (82) — before this update, reaching the island north of Mos Le'Harmless for the Treasure Trail step meant a slow, awkward crossing. This is the single best quality-of-life shortcut in the batch if you do clues.
  2. Edgeville Dungeon pipe (60) — the Brass key is one of the most consistent annoyances in the game. The new pipe at the southern edge makes the dungeon genuinely usable without it, which matters for the whole Wilderness slayer meta.
  3. Giant's Plateau climb (54) — desert access without the long route around is a small gift to every agility shortcut route, quest run, and the Hard Desert Diary grind.
  4. Catherby–Taverley (68, now two-way) — the old grapple shortcut was one-way; it now works both directions barehanded, which is a real routing win for farming, hunter, and the agi course commute.
  5. River Elid stepping stones (79) — north of Sophanem; shaves time off Sophanem, Nardah, and the Kharidian Desert route loops.

The Arceuus Library jump (52/62) also deserves a mention for ironmen and questers: the Library's three floors are a notorious time sink, and this cuts the top-floor loop substantially.

Boosting and the Sepulchre

The Sepulchre's new floor-entry rules also reward clever boosting: Summer pies (+5 Agility) are the obvious tool, but Agility potions (+3) work too if you're within three levels. Because the requirement is checked on entry, a boosted player at 72 can enter Floor 4 at 77-equivalent — which means the 77/87 thresholds effectively start at 72/82 in practice with a pie. The Grand Coffin's 84 Thieving or 92 Agility requirement is also boostable, so a Dwarven stout or Summer pie opens it earlier than either raw level would suggest.

One caveat: Sepulchre floors are still skill-gated for the efficient path — the lowered requirements make Floor 4-5 viable sooner, but players below the old thresholds will find the obstacle density noticeably harder. Start with the Hallowed Sepulchre Calculator to see how the new unlocks shift your XP estimates.

What This Means for Your Training

Agility's meta barely shifts: Sepulchre (77+) remains the best active XP, and the Colossal Wyrm course is now a friendlier mid-game option. The real winners here are route efficiency — clue steps, Achievement Diary tasks, and shortcuts to PvM/skilling spots all got faster. Our Agility guide covers the full training picture from 1-99.

These changes were part of Summer Sweep-Up batch 2, which also reworked Chambers of Xeric loot and buffed Wyrmscraig — get the full round-up in our Summer Sweep-Up 2026 post.
