Elemental Workshop I is a very short Novice quest that unlocks the Elemental Workshop and the elemental shield. It needs 20 Mining, 20 Smithing and 20 Crafting, all boostable.

- Read the book. Search the bookcase in the house south-west of the Seers' Village bank, read the battered book and use a knife on it to get a battered key.
- Enter the workshop. Use the key on the odd-looking wall in the building with the anvil icon and climb down the stairs.
- Restart the water wheel. Turn the east then the west water control to green (in that order) and pull the lever to start the water wheel.
- Fix the bellows. Repair the bellows with leather, a needle and thread, then pull the lever next to it.
- Get elemental ore. Mine an elemental rock in the western cavern, kill the level 35 Earth elemental it awakens and pick up the elemental ore.
- Smelt and smith. Fill a stone bowl with lava and use it on the furnace, smelt the ore with 4 coal and use the elemental metal on the workbench with the slashed book to make an elemental shield.
