Vet'ion OSRS Boss Guide
Wilderness Bosses - Hard difficulty
Updated September 2026
Vet'ion is a Zamorakian skeletal champion in Vet'ion's Rest at level 35 Wilderness and one of the three bosses that drop the Dragon pickaxe. He has an orange enraged second form, and his uniques include the Voidwaker gem and Treasonous ring. He is effectively a crush-only fight, so weapon choice matters as much as prayer. This guide gives you a practical starting route, loadout direction, and decision-first checklist so you can get into consistent kills faster.

Boss Overview
Vet'ion is a wilderness boss in thewilderness bosses bracket. Wilderness bossing is a risk-management activity as much as a PvM activity.
Vet'ion is highly resistant to everything except crush and is undead, so a Salve amulet (ei) works on him. He attacks with targeted magic that lands in a 3x3 area, and at half health in his first form he summons two skeleton hellhounds that make him damage-immune until they die. His enraged second form attacks faster and hits harder, and restores any drained Defence levels.
For a first kill, bring a crush weapon and the Salve amulet (ei), and be ready to kill the hellhounds immediately when they spawn. The second form summons stronger greater skeleton hellhounds and adds a shockwave on the transition. If you cannot kill the second form within five minutes he reverts to form one with the same hitpoints.
Your current setup should match your trip objective. If you are learning mechanics, favor sustain and control. If you are already consistent, add damage gradually.
Run low-tilt trips with predictable exits and sustainable risk.
How The Fight Works
Route and Escape Planning
Set your entry route, escape path, and risk cap before each trip.
Kill Setup
Control positioning and mechanics while monitoring player activity nearby.
Loot and Decision Point
Decide quickly whether to bank or continue based on supplies and risk.
Exit Execution
Leave on your planned route instead of reacting late to danger.
Prep Checklist
- Lock one stable loadout before you chase max DPS variants.
- Pre-plan your inventory around your expected trip length.
- Set one clear objective for each trip (KC, task, uniques, or practice).
- Use risk-adjusted gear and a fixed escape route every trip.
Recommended Loadout
Wilderness boss. Bring escape teleport and budget risk. Skeleton minions use mage.

Mechanic Checklist
Route planning, escape decisions, and controlled risk matter as much as kill speed.
- Use a crush weapon and the Salve amulet (ei): Vet'ion is undead and resists all other attack styles.
- Kill the skeleton hellhounds the moment they spawn - Vet'ion is completely damage-immune while they live.
- His Defence drains reset when he changes form, so reapply stat-lowering specials after the transition.
Common Mistakes
- Over-prioritizing damage upgrades before mastering mechanics.
- Bringing too many switches and losing consistency under pressure.
- Staying too long on weak supplies and losing overall hourly value.
- Trying to speedrun before your baseline clear is stable.
- Ignoring PK risk and travelling with more risk than needed.
Progression Targets
