Chaos Elemental is a wilderness boss in thewilderness bosses bracket. Wilderness bossing is a risk-management activity as much as a PvM activity.

The Chaos Elemental's three attacks are Discord, dealing Magic, Ranged or Melee damage; Confusion, teleporting you to a random nearby spot; and Madness, unequipping up to four of your items. The disarm is the dangerous one in a multi-combat Wilderness zone, because it can scatter your gear and leave you exposed to player killers.

For a first kill, minimise the value of what you bring and keep equipment switches to a minimum so the disarm has less to strip. It is immune to venom, so venom sources apply regular poison instead. Fight from range and be ready to run or teleport the instant another player appears. The nearby obelisk can drop you close, especially after the hard Wilderness Diary.
