Scorpia OSRS Boss Guide
Wilderness Bosses - Medium difficulty
Updated September 2026
Scorpia is a giant scorpion boss in a cave beneath the Scorpion Pit in level 53-55 Wilderness, and one of the three shard bosses for the Odium and Malediction wards. Her melee drains prayer even through protection and she poisons, making her a risk-management fight as much as a PvM one. The area is multi-combat, so player killers are a constant threat. This guide gives you a practical starting route, loadout direction, and decision-first checklist so you can get into consistent kills faster.

Boss Overview
Scorpia is a wilderness boss in thewilderness bosses bracket. Wilderness bossing is a risk-management activity as much as a PvM activity.
Scorpia is weak to Magic because of her low Magic level, and the standard method is to freeze her and fight at range. Once she drops below 50% health her next attack summons two Scorpia's guardians, which rapidly heal her while within three tiles. You either kill those guardians or freeze them and drag Scorpia out of their healing range.
For a first kill, bring antipoison and accept that her melee drains two prayer even when it misses. Freeze her from distance and kill the guardians the moment they spawn. The fight itself is not hard, but the cave is deep multi-combat Wilderness, so bring gear you are willing to lose and keep an escape plan ready.
Your current setup should match your trip objective. If you are learning mechanics, favor sustain and control. If you are already consistent, add damage gradually.
Run low-tilt trips with predictable exits and sustainable risk.
How The Fight Works
Route and Escape Planning
Set your entry route, escape path, and risk cap before each trip.
Kill Setup
Control positioning and mechanics while monitoring player activity nearby.
Loot and Decision Point
Decide quickly whether to bank or continue based on supplies and risk.
Exit Execution
Leave on your planned route instead of reacting late to danger.
Prep Checklist
- Lock one stable loadout before you chase max DPS variants.
- Pre-plan your inventory around your expected trip length.
- Set one clear objective for each trip (KC, task, uniques, or practice).
- Use risk-adjusted gear and a fixed escape route every trip.
Recommended Loadout
Safe spot Scorpia from the east. Kill scorpions for healing. Weaker demi-boss.

Mechanic Checklist
Route planning, escape decisions, and controlled risk matter as much as kill speed.
- Freeze Scorpia and fight from range: she is weak to Magic and her guardians can be frozen out of healing range.
- Her melee drains 2 prayer per swing even through Protect from Melee, so track prayer carefully.
- Bring antipoison: both Scorpia and her offspring poison, starting at 20 and 6 damage respectively.
Common Mistakes
- Over-prioritizing damage upgrades before mastering mechanics.
- Bringing too many switches and losing consistency under pressure.
- Staying too long on weak supplies and losing overall hourly value.
- Ignoring PK risk and travelling with more risk than needed.
Progression Targets
- Stage 1: Build a reliable Scorpia starter setup in Gear Picker and secure consistent clears.
- Stage 2: Optimize trip length through cleaner mechanics and inventory control.
- Stage 3: Add a stronger DPS variant and compare real run outcomes.
- Stage 4: Finalize a shareable Scorpia loadout set for your ongoing route.
Notable Drops
- Odium shard
- Malediction shard
- Scorpia's offspring
Boss FAQ
01Where is Scorpia and how do I safe spot her?
Scorpia is in level 56 Wilderness, north-west of the Mage Arena and inside the Scorpia's cave. The classic strategy is to safe spot her from the east side of the cave with magic, killing her Scorpia guardians to heal. She is one of the weaker wilderness bosses, so the main risk is PKers rather than the fight itself.
02What are Scorpia's notable drops?
Scorpia drops the Odium Shard and Malediction Shard (pieces of the Odium Ward and Malediction Ward), the Scorpia's offspring pet, and the Looting Bag at a high rate.
03What setup style should I start with for Scorpia?
Start with a Magic setup focused on consistency, then tune damage once your kill flow is stable. Build and test your own setup in the Gear Picker before long trips.
04Is Scorpia good for profit?
Scorpia can be strong for profit depending on your kill consistency, trip length, and unique drop luck. Prioritize repeatable clears over risky max-DPS setups.
05How should I use Gear Picker for Scorpia?
Create one baseline loadout, one safer sustain loadout, and one upgraded version. Share each link so you can compare and discuss setups quickly.
06Should I use Best in Slot Finder or Gear Picker for Scorpia?
Use Best in Slot Finder for recommendation-first starting points, then use Gear Picker to build and refine the exact setup you will actually run.
