Quests are the backbone of account progression in Old School RuneScape. They unlock BIS gear, new areas, training methods, and the most efficient money makers. But with over 160 quests to choose from, knowing which ones to prioritise and whether you meet the requirements can be overwhelming.
The Quest Guides hub organises every quest by category so you can find what you need quickly. Whether you are a new player looking for an efficient quest order, a mid-game player aiming for Barrows gloves, or an end-game player working toward grandmaster quest unlocks, the hub gives you a clear starting point.
What the Hub Offers
The quest guides are organised into categories that match how players actually approach questing:
Free-to-Play Quests — all 24 F2P quests with item checklists and reward summaries. Essential for new players building their first account. You can also jump straight to full walkthroughs for every quest.
Optimal Quest Guide — the most efficient quest order for minimising early skilling. Many quest rewards skip the early and mid levels of skills like Attack, Strength, Magic, and Prayer. The optimal guide shows you which quests to do first and what levels you need.
Grandmaster Quests — dedicated sections for Dragon Slayer II, Monkey Madness II, Desert Treasure II, and Song of the Elves. Each guide covers the stat requirements, item preperation, boss strategies, and unlock rewards.
Boss Unlock Quests — quests that unlock profitable boss content. Vorkath (Dragon Slayer II), Zulrah (Regicide), Muspah (Secrets of the North), and more. If you want a specific boss drop, start with the quest that unlocks it.
Recipe for Disaster — the full Barrows gloves unlock path with each subquest's requirements listed individually. This is one of the most common account goals, and the hub breaks it down step by step.
XP Reward Planning — a comprehensive list of quests that give combat and skilling XP rewards. Prioritise these to skip early level grinding on new accounts or ironmen.
How to Use the Hub
The hub is designed to work alongside the tools you already use for account planning:
- Browse the quest category that matches your current goal
- Check the skill requirements listed for each quest
- Open the Skill Calculators to verify you meet the requirements
- Use the Combat Level Calculator to check your combat bracket before attempting boss fights
- Review the Boss Guides for boss strategies on quest-required fights
Why Quest Order Matters
The order in which you complete quests can save you dozens of hours of skilling. Waterfall Quest gives 13,750 Attack and Strength XP with no requirements — taking a level 1 account to 30 Attack and 29 Strength in under 10 minutes. Tree Gnome Village and The Grand Tree push melee stats even higher. Fight Arena adds another 21,500 Attack XP.
For magic, The Eyes of Glouphrie and The Giant Dwarf provide substantial XP rewards that can skip early magic training. For prayer, The Holy Grail gives 11,000 Prayer XP at no requirement beyond the quest itself. The quest guides hub highlights these efficient pathways so you do not waste time on early-level grinding that quest rewards could skip.
New and Returning Players
If you are starting fresh or coming back after a break, the Beginner Roadmap gives you a structured progression path that combines quest unlocks with efficient training methods. The quest guides hub is the reference layer beneath that roadmap — when the roadmap says "complete Dragon Slayer I," you open the quest guide for the item checklist and boss strategy.
