Fishing Contest is a very short Novice quest that opens the underground White Wolf Mountain passage and lets you catch minnows at the Fishing Guild. It only needs 10 Fishing.

- Fishing rod or pearl fishing rod (an oily fishing rod will not work)
- Red vine worm (obtainable during the quest)

- Get garlic. Take garlic from the house south-west of the Seers' Village bank if you do not already have some.
- Collect red vine worms. Bring a spade to McGrubor's Wood and check the vines west of the fairy ring to gather three red vine worms.
- Enter Hemenster. Head to Hemenster and buy a fishing rod from Grandpa Jack for 5 coins if needed. Enter with your fishing pass.
- Win the contest. Put garlic in the pipes to the north, pay Bonzo 5 coins, wait for the Sinister Stranger to move away and start fishing until the contest ends.
- Finish the quest. Return to the dwarf who started the quest and show him the trophy.
