OSRS Menu Entry Swapper 2.0 Guide: Best MES Setups

Menu Entry Swapper 2.0 went live on 7 September 2026 for the Official Client and mobile (version 240.6+). It is a ground-up rewrite, not a patch, and it quietly changed how your left-click and tap options are set.

Third-party clients like RuneLite are unaffected. Swaps are saved per device, so your mobile and desktop setups are separate.

Here is the short version of what changed, then the setups worth copying.

What Changed in MES 2.0

• Edit mode is split per subject. NPCs, Fairy rings, and every other interactable now have their own menu, with their own reset button.
• Sub-entries can be promoted. A sub-menu option can now sit in the top-level menu.
• Entries can be hidden individually with the eye icon, no more workarounds.
• Drag-and-drop is gone. You now use arrows: up sends an entry to the top, down moves it one place.
• Two layers of swaps. Standard, plus a secondary layer that needs a keyboard and is accessed by holding shift.
• The top entry is your left-click or tap. This is the whole game.

Most old customisations carry over automatically. Some swaps involving Walk here do not, so check those first.

How to Edit Your Swaps

1. Long-press or right-click to open the menu.
2. Press the Edit button in the top-right. The menu collapses per object.
3. Navigate to the object you want to change, then use:
   • Up arrow — send entry to the top
   • Down arrow — move entry down one
   • Eye — hide or show an entry
   • Star — promote a sub-entry to the top level
   • Reset — restore that object to default
4. Set the entry you want as the top option. That becomes your left-click.

Keyboard users: do not hold shift while editing unless you are setting up the secondary layer.

Best MES 2.0 Setups

Bossing and PvM

• Food and potions: top-swap your main food, brew, and restore so combo eating is one click.
• NPC attack: make sure Attack sits above Walk here. This was broken on release and fixed in the 10 September client update (240.7).
• Bones and ashes: swap to bury or scatter for fast prayer training.
• Looting: keep Take at the top of ground items; hide Examine to stop misclicks.

Skilling

• Banking: swap Withdraw-X or Withdraw-All to the top for methods like Herblore and Fletching.
• Construction: set Build or Remove as the top option on furniture. Pair this with the Construction Guide and the House Planner to plan the build.
• Farming: swap Rake, Pick, or Harvest per patch type.
• Runecrafting: make Craft-rune the top option at altars.

Clue Hunting

• Dig and Search: promote Dig on clue spots so you never open the wrong option.
• STASH units: top-swap Store or Withdraw depending on whether you are stocking up.

PvP

• Special attack: make sure your spec weapon swap is clean and quick.
• Freeze escapes: set Walk here correctly so you are not forced into an attack when you want to move.

Menu Settings Worth Changing

• Long-press time: shorter means faster menus but needs more precision.
• Menu entry spacing: increase it if the menu feels too small.
• Minimenu start position: by default the menu opens under your pointer. Change it so a specific entry sits under your pointer — this pairs perfectly with reordering to give you both a left-click and an easy long-press option.

Bugs Fixed on 10 September (240.7)

• PvP options ignoring your game setting
• Sub-options triggering the entry below
• Touch scrolling in chat, bank, and settings
• Click-through in the chatbox
• Chat channel stones being unusable
• Telegrab only showing one item in a pile
• Orb taps not registering at low FPS
• Custom menu entries getting lost
• Entry swapper stuck in shift-mode with NPC tagging
• Connection issues during The Red Reef quest
• Context-dependent object ordering

Still outstanding: the Total Level box position, the swapper occasionally failing to open, and obsolete minimenu reordering options.

Should You Reset and Start Fresh?

If your swaps migrated and feel wrong, use Reset minimenu ordering in settings and rebuild deliberately. It takes five minutes and removes months of accumulated weird options.

Set the swaps you actually use, then leave them alone. MES is only as good as the three or four objects you interact with most.
