Kraken is a slayer boss in theslayer bosses bracket. Slayer bosses reward route discipline across many task-driven runs.
The Kraken is submerged, so only Magic reliably damages it while Ranged deals a fraction and melee cannot connect. Disturb the four small whirlpools, or use a fishing explosive on the large one, to wake it and release the level 112 Enormous Tentacles, then burn it down from a safe tile. The Kraken's accuracy is very poor while its tentacles are more accurate but hit for less.
For a first kill, take a trident or powered staff and simply out-heal the damage. The boss has no meaningful Magic defence, so almost any magic setup lands, and Protect from Magic is pointless because every hit is typeless. Longer trips are limited by prayer and food rather than by the fight itself.
