How the August 2026 Rework Changed Things
Before 12 August, the table totalled 69 weight with 20 on each Prayer Scroll — a 29% scroll chance per purple. The new tables (60 regular, 56 CM) cut that to 23.3% regular / 21.4% CM, while Ancestral rose from 13% combined to 20% regular / 21.4% CM.
The Twisted Bow kept its weight of 2, so it got relatively more common — 3.3% per purple in regular raids, up from 2.9%. Jagex expects the raid's GP/hr to hold steady as scroll prices rise and Ancestral prices fall.

Frequently Asked Questions
01What changed in the Chambers of Xeric loot table in August 2026?
Summer Sweep-Up batch 2 (12 August 2026) reweighted CoX uniques: Prayer Scrolls dropped from 20/69 to 14/60 weight in regular raids (12/56 in Challenge Mode), while Ancestral pieces rose from 3/69 to 4/60 (4/56 in CM). Scrolls are roughly 20% rarer per purple in regular and 26% rarer in CM; Ancestral is about 54% more common per purple in regular mode.
02What is a purple in Chambers of Xeric?
A 'purple' is a unique drop roll from the raid's reward chest. This calculator models the odds of each unique conditional on a purple roll — the overall purple rate itself depends on raid points and raid size, which Jagex has not published as a formula, so it is not modeled here.
03Is Challenge Mode better than regular CoX for uniques?
For the same number of purples, yes: Challenge Mode has a smaller total weight (56 vs 60), so every unique with the same weight is more likely, and Prayer Scrolls are rarer (21.4% vs 23.3% per purple). CM also has a higher purple rate overall, so it is the strongest path to uniques if you can clear it efficiently.
04How many purples does the Ancestral set take?
With the new weightings, each Ancestral piece has a 4/60 (6.7%) chance per purple in regular mode. Expect roughly 27-28 purples to complete the full set on average (about 26 in Challenge Mode). This is a major improvement over the pre-August 2026 table, which averaged over 40 purples.
05Will the new drop rates change item prices?
Almost certainly. Scrolls should rise in price (they are rarer), and Ancestral pieces should fall (they are more common). Jagex expects the raid's GP/hr to hold roughly steady as prices adjust, and they have said they will watch the market closely and may revisit the weightings.
