- Start the quest. Talk to Captain Tock south of the entrance to Falador farm, then sail with him from the dock west of Rimmington.
- Speak to the crew. Talk to Ithoi the Navigator first, then Arsen the Thief, Cabin Boy Colin and Gnocci the Cook, taking a tinderbox and spade.
- Investigate the curse. Get the ogre artefact from Captain Tock, take it to Chief Tess in the Corsair Cove Dungeon, then dig up the possessed doll by the tropical tree and use the telescope.
- Expose the traitor. Report back to Gnocci, Arsen and Colin, then confront Ithoi and use your tinderbox on the driftwood under his hut to prove he is faking.
- Defeat Ithoi. Head west and kill level 35 Ithoi the Navigator. Protect from Magic removes all his damage.
- Finish the quest. Talk to Captain Tock.
