Observatory Quest repairs the Observatory and unlocks the Spirit of Scorpius, who makes unholy symbols. It needs no skill requirements and rewards Crafting experience plus a random astrological item.

Walkthrough

- Start the quest. Speak to the Observatory professor and give him the three planks, bronze bar and molten glass by talking to him three more times.
- Find the kitchen key. Talk to the assistant, go up the east hill and downstairs, then search the dungeon chests until you find the goblin kitchen key.
- Deal with the guard. Head north then west to the kitchen gate, prod the sleeping goblin guard and kill or trap him, then inspect the goblin stove.
- Make the lens. Speak to the professor with the lens mould, use the molten glass on it, then give him the lens mould and observatory lens.
- Run the cutscene. Re-enter the dungeon, run past the kitchen and climb the stairs in the south end without clicking during the cutscene.
- Identify the constellation. Talk to the professor upstairs, view the telescope, then identify the constellation you saw to choose your reward.

01What do I need to start Observatory Quest?
No skills or quests are required. Bring 3 planks, a bronze bar and molten glass.

The reward depends on the astrological sign you see. Everyone also receives an uncut sapphire.
03Is there a shortcut to the Observatory?
Yes, after the quest you can create a permanent grapple shortcut with Agility 23, Ranged 24, Strength 28, a crossbow and a mith grapple.
04How much Crafting experience does Observatory Quest give?
2,250 Crafting experience, 2 Quest points and 5 Kudos at the Varrock Museum, plus your astrological item and an uncut sapphire.
05Do I have to kill the goblin guard in Observatory Quest?
No. The level 42 Goblin guard in the dungeon is optional and can simply be trapped behind a column.
06How long does Observatory Quest take?
It is a Short quest with no combat required. Bring 3 planks, a bronze bar and molten glass to start.
07What does the Spirit of Scorpius do?
After the quest the Spirit of Scorpius, found in the graveyard north of the Observatory, will give you a mould to make unholy symbols and will bless them for you.
