Opening a master clue casket is one of the most exciting moments in OSRS. The chance at a 3rd age pickaxe, a gilded piece, or ranger boots keeps players coming back for more. But between the long clue steps and the RNG, most players only open a handful of caskets per session.
The Clue Casket Simulator lets you open as many caskets as you want in seconds. See what you might get, compare drop frequencies across tiers, and get a feel for the reward tables without spending hours on emote clues and puzzle boxes.
How It Works
Select a clue tier from the six available options — beginner, easy, medium, hard, elite, or master. Each tier uses a weighted item table based on the real OSRS clue scroll reward distribution. Common items appear frequently, rare items appear infrequently, and mega-rare items like 3rd age equipment show up at rates that reflect their real rarity.
Enter how many caskets you want to open (up to 100 at once) and click simulate. The tool rolls each casket's rewards independently, just like the real game. Each roll pulls from the tier's weighted table, and multiple rolls per casket follow the same rules as in-game reward caskets.
The results panel shows two views:
- Loot log — every casket's contents listed in order, so you can see how individual caskets roll
- Drop summary — a grouped count of every unique item received, sorted by frequency
Each item name links directly to its OSRS Wiki page so you can check the actual drop mechanics, Grand Exchange price, and item uses.
Item Tables by Tier
The simulator includes accurate item pools for each clue tier:
Beginner — mole slippers, frog slippers, bear feet, demon feet, sandwich lady outfit, monk's robes (t), rune scimitar ornament kits, amulet of defence (t)
Easy — black and steel gold-trimmed armour, studded leather (g), wizard robes (t/g), amulet of magic (t), team capes, imp mask, goblin mask, ham joint, willow comp bow
Medium — adamant and mithril trimmed armour, climbing boots (g), ranger boots, wizard boots, holy sandals, mitres, croziers, god cloaks, red d'hide (t)
Hard — rune gold-trimmed armour, god armour (Zamorak, Saradomin, Guthix), dragon ornament kits, Armadyl and Bandos equipment, gilded equipment, 3rd age equipment
Elite — rune trimmed armour, dragon ornament kits, god armour, Armadyl and Bandos equipment, gilded equipment, 3rd age equipment
Master — 3rd age equipment (all slots), gilded equipment, dragon ornament kits, ranger gloves, god armour
Expected Value vs Reality
It is important to understand that the simulator is showing you possible outcomes, not predicting specific results. Each roll is independent — opening 100 caskets in the simulator uses the same random distribution as opening 100 caskets in-game. The purpose is to give you a feel for the drop tables so you know what to expect before you invest hours in clue scrolls.
