Ever wondered how your stats stack up against a friend's? Or wanted to compare your main account against your ironman alt side by side to decide what to train next? Guessing from memory doesn't cut it — one level at 90+ hides over 1M XP.

The new Player Lookup & Comparison tool now lets you load any two OSRS accounts and compare all 23 skills at a glance. Levels, XP, progress to 99, and even account-wide leads are shown in a single view — no spreadsheets, no manual math.

How It Works (Two Clicks)

  1. Open the Player Lookup tool and type a RuneScape display name. Pick the game mode first — standard, ironman, hardcore, or ultimate ironman — because hiscores are split by mode. Your stats load instantly from the official OSRS hiscores via our proxy, covering every skill with level, XP, and rank. The name saves locally so it auto-fills next time — see our Hiscore Integration for details.

  2. Click Compare Players to add a second slot. Type a second display name, pick its mode, and the page transforms into a side-by-side comparison view:

  • Comparison header — total level, total XP, and a count of how many skills each player leads
  • Colored skill names — the player with the higher level in each skill gets a highlighted name, the trailing player is dimmed so leads pop instantly
  • Progress bars — two bars per skill: progress to the next level (e.g., 88→89) and progress to 99, so you see who is closer to a break-even grind
  • XP gap callout — hover any skill to see the exact XP difference between players (useful for 92→99 where one level hides 1.2M XP)

No registration, no login — just public hiscores data. If a player is unranked in a skill (below ~1,300 XP or outside top 2M), we show level 1 for that skill and flag it.

What You Can Do With It (Four Real Use Cases)

1. Compare Yourself to a Friend (Bragging Rights + Planning)

See who's ahead in Slayer, who has the most total XP, and where you need to catch up. Example: you lead by 8 Slayer, they lead by 12 Farming — you now know to hit Slayer while they farm herbs, and you'll meet at Slayer 90 together.

Good for friendly competition or settling "who's closer to max" without screenshots.

2. Compare Your Own Accounts (Main vs Ironman vs Pure)

Many players run multiple builds — a main, an ironman, a pure. Load your main in slot one, your iron in slot two, and see exactly where each stands. Your iron at 40 Construction needs the Construction Calculator more than your main at 83; your pure at 70 Ranged needs the Ranged Guide next. The visual lead count tells you which account to focus tonight.

3. Vet a Clanmate or Raid Team

Recruiting for Theatre of Blood or a Wilderness PK trip? Check potential members' stats against your own or against a minimum (e.g., 90 Slayer, 78 Herblore, 99 Hitpoints) before you invite. The side-by-side view is faster than asking for screenshots.

4. Plan Your Next Session (From Gap to Calculator)

Once you see where you're behind, convert that gap into a plan. Example: you're 2M XP behind in Agility. Open the Agility Calculator — enter your current level → target, compare rooftop courses for that bracket, and see laps needed. Or check the Max Hit Calculator to see how a pending Strength level translates to max hit.

How Loading Works (Under the Hood)

Each player slot uses the same hiscore integration that powers the skill calculators and achievement diary tracker:

  • Select game mode (standard, ironman, hardcore, ultimate) and type the display name exactly as it appears in-game.
  • Stats are fetched live from the OSRS hiscores and cached locally for a few minutes to avoid rate limits. We proxy via api/osrsbox-complete and respect Jagex's service.
  • All 23 skills (Attack through Sailing) come back with level, XP, and rank.
  • Your display name and mode save in localStorage — not on our servers — so they auto-fill on return visits.

"Player not found"? Three usual causes: (a) wrong mode selected (standard vs ironman), (b) typo (check capitalisation of special characters), or (c) below hiscore cutoff (needs ~1,154 XP for Hitpoints at 10, or top 2M rank). New or low-level pures often don't appear until they've gained a few levels — use manual entry as fallback.

Privacy

Your display name is public hiscores data — it's already visible to anyone who searches the hiscores. Our proxy does not log, sell, or store names beyond your browser's own localStorage. You can clear it anytime in browser settings → storage. If you prefer not to use hiscores, every calculator also offers manual level/XP inputs with the same features.

Tips to Get More Value

  • Track diary readiness. After comparing, open Achievement Diaries — the tool compares both players' stats against each diary's requirements and shows who qualifies for which tier.
  • Check XP Table positions. After importing, glance at the Experience Table — paste your XP to see your true progress to virtual 126 (200M XP) and how 92 is exactly half to 99.
  • Share the compare link. The comparison view encodes both names in the URL query string — copy the URL and send it to your friend. They see the same side-by-side without re-typing.

Built on the same API as: Hiscore Integration and every Skill Calculator.

FAQ

Do I need an account to use the Player Lookup tool?

No. There is no registration and no login, just public hiscores data. You can load any two OSRS accounts and compare all 23 skills without creating an account.

How do I compare two OSRS players?

Type a RuneScape display name and pick the game mode, then click Compare Players to add a second slot. Type the second display name and mode to see the side-by-side comparison.

Why does the tool say "Player not found"?

The three usual causes are selecting the wrong game mode (standard versus ironman), a typo or capitalisation error in the name, or a player below the hiscore cutoff. Manual entry works as a fallback.

Is my display name stored on your servers?

No. Your display name and mode save in your browser's localStorage, not on the servers. The proxy does not log, sell, or store names, and you can clear the data anytime in browser settings.

Which game modes does the Player Lookup tool support?

It supports standard, ironman, hardcore, and ultimate ironman. You must pick the correct mode because hiscores are split by mode, and each returns level, XP, and rank for every skill.

How many skills does the comparison cover?

It compares all 23 skills, from Attack through Sailing, showing levels, XP, progress to 99, and account-wide leads in a single side-by-side view.
