Bank Tags are finally available on the official Old School RuneScape client and mobile - no RuneLite required. Alongside this, the Trouver Parchment system has been reworked to remove the repetitive re-locking loop, and Frost Dragons received new Slayer unlocks.

Here is how all three changes work and how to use them.

Bank Tags: Setup & Usage

Bank Tags let you create custom item layouts inside your bank for quick gearing and inventory setups. Think of them as saved loadout presets - one click switches your bank view to show only the items for a specific activity.

Creating a Bank Tag

  1. Open your bank and click the + button in the top-left corner
  2. Enter a name (up to 25 alphanumeric characters - chat filter applies)
  3. Search for an item to use as the tag's icon
  4. The tag appears as an icon in the left sidebar of your bank

Filling a Tag

Drag and drop any item from your main bank onto the tag icon. The item moves into the tag view - it is still in your bank, just organised into the tag layout. You can arrange items in any order, leave gaps, and create full gear + inventory layouts.

Switching Views

Click the tag icon to enter tag view. Click it again to return to your main bank. This is a toggle - you jump between views instantly.

Managing Tags

  • Duplicate a tag: Right-click (minimenu) and select "Duplicate", or hold Shift while dragging an item to spawn a copy
  • Remove an item: Right-click the item in tag view and select "Remove from tag"
  • Delete a tag: Right-click the tag icon and select "Delete tag" (confirmation prompt prevents misclicks)
  • Reorder tags: Drag tags up and down the sidebar to prioritise frequently used ones
  • Maximum tags: 20 (increased from the originally planned lower limit based on player feedback)

What Bank Tags Do Not Do

  • They do not duplicate items - removing an item from a tag does not delete it from your bank
  • They do not affect your main bank's organisation - tag layouts are independent
  • They do not interact with RuneLite Bank Tags - the two systems are separate and do not conflict
  • They do not integrate with Potion Storage - potions must be in your main bank to appear in tags

Practical Layouts

Community creators have already shared their go-to tag setups:

  • Clue Scrolls - teleport items, spade, clue-specific gear, and stash unit items in one view
  • Bossing - gear switches, potions, food, and spec weapons for specific encounters
  • Farming Runs - seeds, saplings, teleports, and tools grouped by patch type
  • Slayer Tasks - task-specific gear presets ready to withdraw in two clicks

Known Issue

Duplicate icons may appear when searching for a tag icon. Jagex will fix this in a future update.

Use our Gear Picker to plan your gear loadouts, then replicate them as Bank Tags for fast in-game access. Pair with the Slayer Task Calculator for task-specific gear presets.

Trouver System Rework: One-Time Lock

The Trouver Parchment system has been completely reworked to remove the repetitive re-locking loop that frustrated Wilderness players. Previously, dying in PvP above Level 20 Wilderness would consume your Trouver parchment, requiring you to re-lock untradeables every time you died - and if you forgot, the item was lost permanently on the next death.

New System: Three Tiers of Protection

Items are now categorised into three tiers based on their combat value:

Tier 1: No Combat Benefits - Never Lost

Untradeable items with no combat bonuses (e.g. Graceful set) are never lost on death above Level 20 Wilderness. This covers any item not found on the existing break-on-death list.

Tier 2: Some Combat Bonuses - Break & Repair (No Trouver Needed)

These items break on death and can be repaired at Perdu for a small fee. They will never be lost. Items in this category include:

Fire cape, Infernal cape (non-max variants), Ava's Assembler, all Defenders (Bronze through Dragon and Avernic), Fighter Hat, Runner Hat, Healer Hat, Ranger Hat, Penance Skirt, all Halos, Void Knight Mace, Barronite Mace, Decorative Armour, and Imbued God Capes.

Tier 3: Strong Combat Bonuses - Trouver Once, Locked Forever

Higher-tier untradeables use the Trouver system with a permanent change: once a Trouver parchment is applied, it stays forever. The parchment is never consumed on death.

On death below Level 20 Wilderness (or PvP worlds at GE): the item breaks and is repairable at Perdu for the standard fee.

On death above Level 20 Wilderness: the item becomes mangled and requires a 500,000 GP fee to repair at Perdu.

You can still remove the Trouver parchment at Perdu if you choose. Items in this tier without a Trouver parchment will still be lost above Level 20 Wilderness.

Tier 3 items include:

Void Knight equipment (all variants with helms, tops, robes, gloves), Infernal Max Cape, Infernal Cape (max variant), Ancient Sceptres (all variants), Fighter Torso, Rune Pouch, Divine Rune Pouch, Dizana's Quiver (all variants), Dizana's Max Cape.

Ornament Kit Behaviour

When a kitted item (e.g. Dragon Defender (t)) breaks above Level 20 Wilderness, the ornament kit goes to the PKer if tradeable, and the broken base item stays with you. This matches existing behaviour.

Upcoming: Wilderness Entry Warning

A future update will warn you when entering the Wilderness with any untradeable that requires a Trouver parchment but does not have one applied. This was not ready for the initial release.

Frost Dragon Slayer Unlocks

Two new Slayer unlocks for Frost Dragons are now available:

Unlock Cost Effect
Chance of Heavy Frost 100 Slayer Points Increases Frost Dragon task weighting from 5 to 8 on Nieve/Duradel - more likely to be assigned
I See Dragon 100 Slayer Points Increases task length to 180–240 Frost Dragons

Both unlocks can be disabled without a refund if you change your mind. These were proposed in the earlier Sailing buffs blog and are now live.

Use our Slayer Task Calculator to decide whether these unlocks are worth your points based on your block list and preferred tasks.

How to Use Bank Tags With Existing Tools

The most efficient workflow:

  1. Plan your gear setup in the Gear Picker - build your exact loadout, review total bonuses, and save the shareable link
  2. Recreate the layout as a Bank Tag in-game - drag items into the tag in the same order
  3. Use the Best-in-Slot Finder to check for upgrades and swap items in both the Gear Picker and your Bank Tag
  4. Verify gear requirements with the Combat Calculator before heading into dangerous content

For Wilderness activities where you risk untradeables:

  1. Apply a Trouver parchment once to all Tier 3 items
  2. Verify protection with the upcoming Wilderness entry warning (when released)
  3. Check your risk with the Wilderness Level Calculator
