Fairytale III: Nexus of Power is the finale to the Fairytale questline. Jagex announced it at RuneFest 2026 and is targeting 2027 if it passes the poll.
It is not live yet, and the rewards are not final. This page covers what Jagex has confirmed.
Part of the RuneFest 2026 reveal recap — every OSRS announcement in one place.
The Story
The Fairy Godfather is gathering minions to steal the Nexus, the artefact the fairies use to power the fairy ring network. If he succeeds, he gains control of teleportation across Gielinor for himself and an army of orcs.
You assemble a team of old friends and new allies to steal the Nexus first. Jagex describes it as a heist, with stealth and brute force in roughly equal measure.
Requirements
Jagex has not published the full requirement list. It is a Master quest and the finale to the Fairytale line, so expect the existing Fairytale quests to be required. Do not assume a specific Runecraft level until it is confirmed.
Proposed Rewards
None of these are locked in. Jagex says rewards will be detailed in 2027.
New Runecraft Training
A new, more relaxed Runecraft training method built around the Nexus itself. It is intended as an alternative to existing altar and Abyss routes, not a replacement for them.
Fairy Ring Upgrades
A package of fairy ring upgrades, including:
- The ability to ditch the Dramen staff before the quest cape.
- A fourth code wheel.
Nexus Guardian
A new repeatable boss in Zanaris. Jagex wants players to return to the fairy city regularly, and a repeatable boss is the mechanism.
What It Means for You
- Runecrafting: a new method could change the best route to 99, depending on rates and requirements.
- Quest cape: a Master quest adds a requirement to the cape.
- Fairy rings: the Dramen staff upgrade is a permanent convenience for every account.
- Bossing: the Nexus Guardian gives Zanaris a repeatable boss, which it currently lacks.
